3 little-known TIMING secrets!

We all know there is an intricate relationship between hormones and health… and when it comes to achieving your health goals, timing is everything!

This is one of my favorite music videos! Have you ever seen such a fun (and elaborate!) demonstration of cause and effect? Scroll down to learn more about how this video has inspires me to consider my health.

Nutrition - hormones - energy - strength - sleep - beauty - longevity.

They are all in an intricate cause and effect relationship.

The key is to unlock a set of relationships in order to get the result you desire.

And, as you see in the video, timing is everything.

For example, if your goal is to lose weight, when you eat is as important as what you eat in terms of the impact on your weight and energy levels.

Here are a few suggestions to help you learn how to eat for your body:

1. If you are eating carbs, consume them earlier in the day, when insulin sensitivity is highest, or immediately after exercising.

2. Try to have your dinner at least 3 hours before you go to bed. If you eat right before bed, your insulin goes up and blocks other hormones (like growth hormone, that fountain of youth within each one of us!!!) that helps us repair and rejuvenate our bodies.

3. Do not undermine the importance of pre and post workout nutrition. Protein drinks after a workout can cause adverse hormonal reactions in an insulin resistant body. Any artificial preservatives or sweeteners cause hormonal havoc! You want to get the optimal hormonal response to boost fat-burn and muscle-build, while also facilitating recovery.

Coming back to the video, good planning results in good timing. Rather than trying to figure it all out at once, simply prep and get things in order for one component at a time. Trial and error is necessary to figure out how it all fits together. Teamwork makes it easier (get your family onboard with prioritizing health), and sharing the process can be as much fun as flaunting the final product.
